Camera Image Upside Down, Mirrored, or Wrong Channel Order
The image is there but wrong: upside down, horizontally mirrored (text reversed), or the rear camera displays on the front channel. Cosmetic-looking — but a mirrored rear camera reverses left and right for the driver, and evidence footage with reversed orientation invites disputes.

Cameras get mounted inverted (ceiling vs dash) all the time — that’s what the per-channel flip and mirror settings are for. After a new install or camera swap, those settings simply haven’t been set to match the mounting.
Rear cameras are often intentionally mirrored so the display works like a rear-view mirror. Enabled on a forward camera — or disabled on a rear one — the picture is “backwards” for its job.
If the installer landed cameras on different ports than the labels assume, camera names, overlays, and recording labels won’t match reality — the “front” recording shows the cargo area. Fixable in settings without touching wiring.
What to try first
- In the device menu, find per-channel image settings and toggle Flip (vertical) and/or Mirror (horizontal) for the affected channel.
- For rear cameras, decide the intent: mirrored for driver display, or true image for evidence — then set mirror mode accordingly.
- If cameras are on wrong channels, relabel/remap channels in settings rather than re-running cables.

Do I need the installer back to fix a flipped camera?
